Our Team
Hello! We're Karl & Katie, founders of Step In Time Chimney Services.
We are firm believers that home is where the hearth is! Our mission is to deliver a first class service, and leave you with that warm and cosy fireside feeling every time. Most importantly though, leaving you at peace with the knowledge that your home is a safer place for you and your family.
Customer service is at the centre of what we do, and we have plenty of experience to do a great job! In a life before chimney sweeping, Karl worked for many years in Client Services for the security industry, managing high-profile contracts across London and the South East. In fact, between us, we have over 40 years experience in service delivery (I know.. we surely don't look old enough!).
We take genuine pride in being part of the community here in the Surrey Hills. No two days are the same and no two customers are the same! As part of our chimney sweeping service we'll work with you to understand what help and advice you need. We'll be transparent and honest at all times, and will never leave a job unfinished.

Industry Training
It's important to used a certified chimney sweep. We have been trained to national standards and can safely deliver a high-quality service. There are several organisations providing chimney sweep training, and Karl selected Rodtech. Rodtech started the rotary power sweeping revolution in the UK, creating a fast and highly effective methodology and cutting-edge equipment.
Karl has successfully completed Rodtech's chimney sweeping and advanced fault finding qualification. This focused on learning chimney and stove design, appropriate building regulations, stove operation and maintenance, customer safety, problem solving, chimney sweeping history, and the latest power sweeping techniques and technology in the market today.
