We will be VAT registered from the 1st January 2025.
The prices shown below are net (in brackets) then the total which is inclusive of VAT at 20%. That part goes straight to HMRC though...please don't hold it against us!
If you have a wood burner or small open fireplace, then this is for you.
This price includes
- An external visual inspection of the stack (from ground level)
- An internal safety assessment of the room & fireplace/ stove parts
- A rotary power-sweep of the flue
- A type 2 smoke test
- Advice on any suggested work required
- A sweeping certificate for insurance purposes.
Gas fires need sweeping annually when in use. We will need to see a photo of the fire to check that we can access the flue to sweep it. If we can't, then you will need to arrange for a gas-safe engineer to remove the fire so that we can access the flue for sweeping.
A gas fire sweep includes the same elements as a standard chimney sweep.
If you have a large open fireplace (the sort of size you can stand up in!), then this is for you. This price includes all components of the standard chimney sweep, but there's more work involved overall.
We are able to sweep a variety of AGAs / range stoves. However, this is something we will need to assess on the day in person. It is possible that the configuration of the flue may require specialist rods that we don't carry.
All being well, a chimney sweep will typically take around 30 - 45 minutes. However, the sweeping price allows up to 1 hour. If we find anything that requires more work during a sweep, e.g. bad tar deposits or foreign debris to be investigated, then we reserve the right to charge an additional £30 per 30 minutes thereafter. We will always let you know if this is the case before carrying out any additional work.
If you have multiple chimneys to be swept on the same day, then we offer a percentage discount. We will confirm this as part of your booking. Thank you.
If you're ready to book, or if you're not sure what service you might need, then we're ready to answer any questions!
Our log burner service includes an inspection of all working parts of the stove, hoovering any ash, glass cleaning, and the replacement of stove rope and tape where required.
If your stove glass, fire bricks, baffle, log guard or other component parts need replacing, these will be quoted for separately and will vary by stove model.
This includes the removal of the nest with specialist tools, a standard sweep thereafter and a CCTV inspection (where required) to ensure that all debris is removed.
Our pricing for a log burner service and bird's nest removal covers the first hour of work / the minimum charge payable. If more than one hour is needed, then we reserve the right to charge on a per 30 minute basis thereafter.
This service is used to inspect the chimney's flue and chambers. This is primarily to assess blockages or obvious constructional defects. This inspection is visual only (no written report) and cannot be used to definitively guarantee / report on the constructional integrity of the chimney and flue.
If you need a CCTV inspection and a standard chimney sweep, then we offer a 10% discount on the combined services (each as described above).
To supply and fit a Firehawk SML CO7B (10yr life) carbon monoxide alarm, in line with Document J building regulations, to enable the detection of poisonous gas emitted when fuels are not burned under the correct conditions.
As with all our services, we will always let you know, up front, what the best course of action is. We are transparent about pricing, and won't carry out any additional work without your consent.
In all cases, work is charged on a materials + labour basis. Full quotes will be provided for all work, and no work undertaken without written agreement. Quotes are valid for 30 days.
We can source and install a wide range of pots, bird guards, rain caps, cowls and ventilation caps to suit your chimney size, functionality, and personal design preferences. The price show is an approximated starting price and each quote will be personalised.
We can install 316 or 904-grade stainless steel flexible liners (as dictated by your appliance fuel type and usage).
A full quote will be provided each time, and prices will vary by chimney length, diameter, steel grade, and labour required (e.g. ease of access and time required). The price show is an approximated starting price
The quote will include any new chimney toppers, flue adaptors, plates and fittings as required.
